Dreams Tulum has achieved significant and measurable sustainability milestones and received the Preferred by Nature™ mark. The requirements for certification are aligned with the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria. This certification assures our commitment to reduce the impact of our activities on the planet and local communities.

Wildlife Protection

As the founders of the Tulum Foundation, Dreams Tulum promotes education, culture and conservation, supporting the preservation of endangered animals.

For example, from May thru October, Mother Caray Green Sea Turtles visit the beaches of Quintana Roo to lay their eggs. As part of Dreams Tulum conservation efforts, we educate guests as well as the surrounding community on safety precautions during the most fragile nesting months for sea turtles.

Recycling & Resource Conservation

Dreams Tulum is a KKR Eco-Innovation Award winner, leveraging areas to improve composting efforts and enhance soil health in resort garden beds. This aids in decreasing chemical fertilizer and water use. The KKR Eco-Innovation Award recognizes current projects by KKR's portfolio companies that provide innovative, environmentally beneficial solutions while creating business value.

Our Community

Dreams Tulum employees support its neighboring communities by making monetary donations, structural improvements to local schools, and scholarships to students at nearby universities. We have created the Tulum Foundation, which provides full university scholarships to youth from low-income families.

Select RCI® affiliated resorts are recognized as RCI Gold Crown Resort properties – the highest of the three RCI Award Designations.
